What drivers need to know

Taillamp assemblies with bent terminals in the wiring harness may not display the lighting that federal rules require, including turn signals, taillamps, stop lamps, and backup lamps. That can make the vehicle harder to see and keep other drivers from knowing it is braking, turning, or reversing, which increases the risk of a crash. There is no dashboard warning for this condition.

The remedy is free. Dealers will inspect the taillamp assemblies and replace them if necessary with ones built with correctly sized terminals. FCA US plans to notify dealers on or about October 29, 2026 and begin notifying owners on or about December 3, 2026.

Chrysler recall background

FCA US opened an investigation on June 16, 2026, and spent the summer analyzing field and customer assistance records. On September 30, 2026, the company recognized a build issue on certain vehicles, and on October 15, 2026, its Vehicle Regulations Committee determined that a noncompliance with FMVSS No. 108 exists. The taillamps were supplied by Ventra Greenwich Holdings Corp.
