Which Ford vehicles are affected?
This recall covers 36,046 examples of the Ford Bronco equipped with the Raptor package, built between October 2021 and May 2026. Ford estimates around 4% of that population actually carries the defect.
The fender flares on affected Bronco Raptors are designed to be removable for certain off-road maneuvers, but incomplete attachment during assembly can cause them to detach on their own. Ford traced the cause to supplier tooling that wasn't properly maintained, which left under- or oversized attachment holes along with burrs and stray fibers that prevented the flares from fully seating during production.
What drivers need to know
There are warning signs before a flare fully detaches. Owners may notice a visible gap, sagging, or misalignment in a fender flare, or hear rattling, clicking, or flapping noises, especially at highway speed, as the retaining clips start to lose their grip.
Ford has not issued a Do Not Drive or Park Outside advisory for this campaign. Owners will be notified by mail and asked to bring their Bronco Raptor to a Ford or Lincoln dealer, where flares will be inspected, repaired if loose, or replaced if already detached, at no cost.
Notification to dealers is expected August 7, 2026, later than most campaigns filed this month, with interim owner letters following between August 10 and August 14, and permanent remedy letters between August 31 and September 4, 2026.
Ford recall background
Ford's first warranty claim tied to this issue came in January 2026, involving a front-right fender flare that detached from a 2026 Bronco Raptor at highway speed. Ford moved fast on production: a Stop Ship order went into effect at Michigan Assembly Plant on March 20, 2026, for all 2026 model year Bronco Raptors, even before the Critical Concern Review Group formally opened its investigation six days later.
Ford's physical testing found the flares could detach, but only after removing all 14 fasteners between the flare and the fender plus several more connecting to the wheel arch liner, a scenario well beyond normal wear. Even so, by early June 2026 Ford had tallied 370 warranty claims, 36 field reports, and two customer reports globally across 352 unique VINs, enough for the Field Review Committee to approve a recall on June 16, 2026. Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries tied to the condition.
How BizzyCar can help
Bronco Raptor owners are some of the most engaged, off-road-focused customers in Ford's lineup, and a part designed to come off intentionally for trail use makes this a recall where owner education matters as much as the repair itself.
BizzyCar Recall Outreach identifies which Bronco Raptor owners in a dealer's database fall inside the affected build window. It reaches them through two-way SMS, making it easy to get flares inspected before a loose one turns into a road hazard for someone else.
